Merryhill Summerlin: A Nurturing and Dynamic Learning Experience
Merryhill School in Summerlin, Las Vegas, offers a premier private school experience for children from infancy through 5th grade. With two campuses, one dedicated to preschool and another for elementary education, we provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students build a strong academic foundation while developing essential social, emotional, and leadership skills.
Located on Snow Trail, our NAEYC-accredited preschool has been proudly serving the Summerlin community since 1996. Our Links to Learning curriculum ensures that children are well-prepared for kindergarten and beyond by fostering growth in language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific exploration, creative expression, and social-emotional learning. More than just a daycare, our preschool provides a nurturing space where young learners thrive. Additionally, we offer an exciting summer camp for our preschoolers!
Merryhill Summerlin Elementary
Our elementary program is designed to challenge and inspire students through a technology-rich curriculum that includes core subjects, STEM education, and specialty classes in Spanish, art, music, technology, and physical education. Students engage in hands-on learning, personalized instruction, and interactive projects that promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.
FIERCE: Developing Confident and Compassionate Leaders
At Merryhill Summerlin, our students don’t just learn—they lead. We instill FIERCE values in every student, encouraging them to be:
- Fearless in socialization and trying new things
- Innovative in solving problems and thinking outside the box
- Enthusiastic about learning and exploring new ideas
- Responsible in their actions and commitments
- Compassionate toward their peers and community
- Enlightened by being open-minded and curious about the world
Each month, teachers nominate students who embody these qualities. These students are celebrated through grade-level luncheons and monthly pizza with our principals, reinforcing the importance of leadership, kindness, and dedication.
Field Trips: Learning Beyond the Classroom
Experiential learning is a vital part of our curriculum, and field trips allow students to connect classroom lessons with the real world. Some of our exciting field trips include:
- Exploring Las Vegas history at the Neon Museum
- Studying engineering at the Hoover Dam
- Observing nature at Red Rock Canyon
- Connecting science lessons to the planetarium and Springs Preserve
- Traveling to Carson City, Washington D.C., and Williamsburg for in-depth historical learning experiences
These trips foster independence, curiosity, and a love for discovery while strengthening our students’ understanding of the world.
A Community That Feels Like Family
At Merryhill Summerlin, we believe that education extends beyond academics—it’s about building a community. Families are invited to participate in a variety of school-wide events, such as our Trunk or Treat, holiday celebrations, tech challenges, spelling bees, and carnivals. These events create meaningful connections between students, parents, and educators, making Merryhill not just a school, but a family.
From their first steps in preschool to their final elementary years, students at Merryhill Summerlin develop the confidence, skills, and values needed to thrive in middle school and beyond.
