Safekey is a before and after school program offered to students in grades Kinder-5th at 84 Clark County Schools. The Safekey program offers an environment where students participate in indoor/outdoor individual and small group games, arts & crafts, and an afternoon snack. Safekey is offered only when school is in session (closed during teacher trainings, Winter Break, school holidays, etc). This program is made possible by the "Open Schools Open Doors" agreement.
Fees: Registration $20 per child’s account, per school year; 1 Morning Pass $7*; 1 Afternoon Pass $10.

Count on Safekey before and after school! Whether you need regular before- and/or after-school care for your child, or just need an occasional afternoon to run errands, Safekey creates a place for fun, learning and socializing in a safe, structured environment at most city of Las Vegas elementary schools. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade can receive homework assistance, have a nutritious afternoon snack, and engage in lots of fun activities, crafts, games, and special events. Payments can be made online at recreation.lasvegasnevada.gov, by phone at 702-229-3399, or at the Safekey Office. The Safekey Program is a pre-paid service. How do I register my child?
Participants may be registered at your child’s school in the Multi-Purpose room during SAFEKEY program hours. Participation forms must be completed by the parents or guardians before your child can attend the program. An annual $10.00 administrative processing fee will apply for each new Safekey enrollment. SAFEKEY SITES NO LONGER ACCEPT PAYMENTS IN CASH OR CHECK, THEY DO ACCEPT CREDIT CARD AND DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS. Payments in cash or check can be made at the Neighborhood Recreation Center or at Silver Mesa Recreation Center.

This program is a recreational enrichment program for children, designed to meet the needs of the working parent. Safekey is staffed by trained recreation leaders. The program consists of an activity or game period, sports, arts and crafts, and special events. The Safekey program also operates various camps throughout the school year. This program corresponds with the Clark County School District calendar.
Note: This program is administered by the City of North Las Vegas Recreation Department, your school office may help you with information but cannot register your child. Check with your individual Safekey site for specific hours of operation and fees or call the Safekey office at 633-1608.

Through the Open Schools Open Doors agreement Clark County Park & Recreations Safekey Program is a before and after school recreational based program offered to students in grades K-5. The program includes recreational activities, and time is set aside each day for homework assistance. Safekey also provides a snack for participants! On occasion homework time will not be available in lieu of special programming. While Safekey is not part of the Clark County School District we both share a common goal, to provide a safe environment for students while at school.
