Has your precious little one every felt left out because they have different abilities than some of the other kids in their class? A local mom saw this happen first hand and decided to do something about it!

Hudson was in a 'typical peer' preschool class for children ages 3 to 5. The purpose of this class was to give children with special needs two years of individualized attention with the hope of assimilating them into a typical classroom for kindergarten instead of a special education class.

One day Hudson's mother, Heather, witnessed another mother handing out invitations to her child's birthday party to the typically developing children but not to the children with challenges. Heather was upset immensely by this and so she and her husband made the decision to have an "inclusion party" for Hudson and invite as many special needs kids as  possible to join in on the fun. The party was a huge success!  Many of the children in attendance had never been to a party before and their parents were thrilled at the chance to have them feel included and just be kids along with everyone else. After all, that's what they are, just kids!

The Raasveld family is eager to foster an environment of kindness and understanding for all types of people for their children. So if you have
young ones, age 7 and under, who have been left out due to challenges or differences then this is your invitation to come party with them!
